National Lottery Heritage Fund has invited us to submit an application for this project. Pete Burgess of the Devon Wildlife Trust, who is leading on preparing the bid on behalf of the Devon Ash Dieback Resilience Forum says: “This is a tremendous opportunity to respond positively to ash dieback, by working with communities and landowners to replace the trees we will lose. We must do what we can to keep Devon’s countryside and built-up areas beautiful and full of wildlife.”
The project aims to stimulate action to replace trees outside woodlands, both in the countryside and in towns and cities. By engaging with local communities, schools and volunteer groups, the project aims to establish at least 250,000 new trees in Devon.
The application for funding will be submitted by 20 August 2019, all going well.
